T. Marie's Testimony (In short- Revised on 6/3/2011)
As a child growing up, T. Marie Phillips was exposed to both her parents' infidelity and the mental breakdown of her father who attempted to kill both herself and her brother. Though she was raised in a middle class family and attended Catholic schools all her life, she struggled with being exposed to pornography, raped by a neighbor and other inappropriate incidences.
T. Marie Phillips was first bound to the 'lifestyle' as it is called, in 1992. She was seeking love and attention after disappointments in life and the break up with her son's father at age 22. She tried to fill the void with the attraction she had years before to woman, by seeking serious relationships. Though she found love from a long term relationship with a woman, she realized as time went on, the enemy (Satan) wanted to destroy her. The lifestyle is destructive and the enemy is on every hand because it is not ordained by God.
She lived as a homosexual for 6 years feeling this was the life for her and there was no turning back. She knew Christ but tried to justify her homosexual lifestyle by thinking God loved her in her sin. She tried living as a Christian and homosexual, but serving two masters proved to not mix and caused spiritual confusion and oppression. She grew increasingly unhappy with her life, her lifestyle with a woman and the effects this would have on her young son.
An unfortunate yet necessary choice to move out of her apartment, left her, her girlfriend and son out on the streets. While she worked yet lived in and out of her car with occasional motel stays, she and her family remained homeless for 1 1/2 years. It was the most under rated experience she has ever battled. It was only a matter of time that she would finally reach a breaking point and deal with her sin against God- homosexuality.
In short, while they were both were ridiculed by church after church, one day she and her girlfriend read the bible together and she instantly felt God's love. She heard him tell her: "If you want me to bless you and get you off the streets, you must live your life for me". She accepted God's command that day and was healed from homosexuality. Her spirit was filled with conviction and shame for the first time in years. She repented to God for how she was living and she submitted to Him.
On that day of November 26, 1999, she gave her life to Christ and accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. She has never looked back. Even the woman she spent years with in a relationship was healed that day and accepted Christ. Over the years, they have remained friends as they walked away from homosexuality and helped each other stay on the path of righteousness.
Now, if God can bring two women out of homosexuality in one bible reading that ultimately saved their souls, anyone can be saved! God is Able. Praise God!
